We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with 1 for the Planet to donate a portion of our annual income to wildlife conservation, focusing on habitat preservation, protecting endangered. In addition, attendees are encouraged to research pet needs in advance of the expo and have discussions with the breeders, educators and veterinarians at the event before making an informed purchase decision. They have a strict policy for vendors to sell only captive-bred animals or long-term captive and health-checked animals for those species not yet well established with captive breeding programs in the pet trade. Townsend and Stokna carefully select vendors that have an excellent reputation for care and responsible breeding for their animals in alignment with their vision. Speakers will give presentations on various topics throughout the day as well. The event’s signature Education Room is also back again offering hands-on learning opportunities with zoologists, veterinarians and other professional educators. The largest selection of animals and supplies in the expo’s history will be presented with hundreds of different species of reptiles, amphibians, aquatics, small exotic mammals, and invertebrates (primarily arachnids, insects, and crustaceans) available for purchase. The Capital District Reptile Expo is returning this weekend, featuring reptiles, amphibians and other exotic animals. Sunday’s event will occupy the entire Albany Capital Center with 84,000 square feet of over 160 vendors tables selling exotic pets and feeders as well as enclosures and care items for these animals. Now in its fourth year of operation, the expo is held each spring and fall and continually draws a growing crowd of more than 4,000 people to the Capital Region to learn about and purchase exotic pets and related supplies.
